How much do AI training jobs pay?
The honest answer depends on the kind of work. AI training jobs range from writing and rating chatbot answers to recording real-world data, and they are paid in different ways. This page covers the recording work GoKuna runs: exactly what each kind of task pays, how that pay is set, and what decides what you actually take home.
What each kind of GoKuna task pays
Every task type has a fixed reward. Object videos: $5.00 per accepted clip. Audio: $6.00 per accepted set. Document photos: $8.00 per accepted sample. First-person video: $10.00 per accepted clip. Long-form video: $20.00 per accepted hour. In-person sessions: $50.00 per session.
The shorter tasks state how long they usually take: about 3 minutes for an object video, about 4 minutes for an audio set and about 5 minutes for a handwriting sample. First-person and long-form video, and in-person sessions, state where they are open instead.
Paid per accepted submission, not per hour
GoKuna pays per accepted submission: per clip, per set, per sample, per accepted hour of footage or per session, as each task states. You are not paid for time spent, and you are not paid for a submission that fails review. That makes the reward easy to judge before you start, because the brief shows the reward and an estimate of the time together.
The reward shown when you reserve a task is the amount you earn for it, even if the task changes afterwards. Nobody can lower it once you have committed.
One task, start to finish
Take an object video. The brief shows $5.00 per accepted clip and about 3 minutes, along with the clip length, file size and formats it accepts and how many places are left. You reserve it, and that reward is now fixed for you. You film the object, preview the clip and upload it.
A reviewer checks it against the brief, usually within 24 hours, and you get the decision by email. If it is accepted, the reward is paid to your bank through Stripe. If it is rejected, you see why and can record again while the task is open.
What decides what you take home
Three things. First, acceptance: only submissions that match the brief are paid, so reading it carefully is the most direct way to earn more. Second, availability: tasks open as collections are commissioned, each with a limited number of places, and some are limited to certain countries. Third, practice tasks: they build your track record but are not paid.
Availability and earnings are not guaranteed. Treat GoKuna as paid task work you pick up when it suits you, not as a salary.
When and how the money arrives
Payouts are handled by Stripe. You set them up once from Earnings, and Stripe verifies your identity and bank details directly; GoKuna never sees your bank details. After that, each accepted submission is paid after review, on its own.
Review usually takes under 24 hours. Once a payment is sent, it usually reaches your bank within a few business days, and you get an email when it goes. If a payout fails, you get an email asking you to check your payout details.
No fees, no minimum
GoKuna does not charge contributors a fee, and there is no minimum payout. A single accepted clip is paid like any other. You never pay to join, to reserve a task or to be paid.
Payouts work in over 100 countries. If yours is not supported, payout setup tells you, and practice tasks stay open to you.
Tax
GoKuna does not withhold tax from payments. You are responsible for any tax you owe on what you earn. Stripe may ask for tax details during payout setup where the law requires it.
How AI training pay compares
Pay for AI training work varies with the skill it asks for. Work that needs a specialist, such as writing expert answers in medicine or law, is priced for that expertise. Recording work needs no qualification, only care, so the reward is set per task and stated up front.
Whatever platform you use, compare what matters: is the pay stated before you work, is it locked once you commit, is it paid to your own bank account, and do you learn why work was rejected?
Do AI training jobs pay well?
It depends on the work and how quickly you complete it to standard. On GoKuna every reward is stated before you reserve, so you can decide whether a task is worth your time before you spend any.
Are practice tasks paid?
No. Practice tasks build your track record. Paid tasks show their reward before you reserve them.
Can the reward change after I reserve?
No. The amount shown when you reserve is the amount you earn for that task, even if the task changes later.
How do I see what I have earned?
The Earnings tab shows what you have earned and your payout setup. Review decisions appear in My work and by email.
