Is GoKuna legit?
GoKuna is a registered company that pays contributors through Stripe for accepted work. Here is who runs it, how a task is checked and when the money reaches you.
Who runs GoKuna
GoKuna is operated by Techguyver Labs, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company.
The contributor terms at gokuna.com/terms name the operator, the licence you grant over accepted recordings, withdrawal, deletion and how payouts work.
How a task works: reserve, record, review
1. Reserve. Read the capture requirements and the stated reward, then reserve the task. Each task shows its reward before you start. The amount shown when you reserve a task is the amount you earn for it, even if the task changes later.
2. Record. Capture on your phone and preview your contribution before uploading. Only share what you have permission to share.
3. Review. A person checks every clip against the task instructions. Your reservation, the review decision and your recorded earnings status all appear in one place in your account.
When and how you get paid
Payments are handled by Stripe. You set up payouts once, and Stripe verifies your identity and bank details directly. We never see your bank details.
Accepted clips are paid in US dollars within 7 business days after acceptance, once your payout setup is complete. Once a payment is sent, your bank typically receives it within a few business days. There is no minimum payout and no fee to be paid.
Payouts work in over 100 countries, including the US, Canada, the UK, most of Europe, Mexico, India, the Philippines, Japan, Australia, Nigeria and Kenya. Practice tasks build your track record and are not paid out. Earnings are not guaranteed.
What happens to your recordings
Contributors are adults who confirm they are 18 or over and only submit media they are allowed to share. The consent terms are recorded with each task.
You keep ownership of what you record. When a recording is accepted, you grant Techguyver Labs, LLC (GoKuna) and the customers who buy the data a non-exclusive licence to use, copy, modify and annotate it, and to train and evaluate AI and machine learning models with it. The licence is perpetual and irrevocable for recordings already delivered to a customer. Full terms are at gokuna.com/terms.
You can delete your account at any time, which erases your profile and your raw files from GoKuna storage. You can also withdraw a recording that has not been delivered to a customer by emailing roy@techguyverlabs.org. Recordings already delivered stay licensed to that customer.
Why a task can be rejected
A clip is rejected when it does not follow the task instructions, for example the wrong subject, a clip outside the stated length, or another person seen or heard without their permission. Keep personal or sensitive information out of frame.
You will see the reason, and while the task is still open you can record a new clip that follows the instructions. Only accepted work is paid.
